About our Ohana (family)

Serving at YWAM Kona

We arrived in Kona in July 2013, leaving behind family, friends, church, job, house, etc in Lynden, WA. It wasn’t an easy decision – the comfortable choice would have been the status quo, but we knew God was tugging at our hearts to return to YWAM (Youth With A Mission).

Paul’s primary role here at YWAM Kona is to serve the campus in the area of financial stewardship and administrative excellence. Paul serves on the CFO team for the University and leads the University’s salesforce system, which is the primary computer system used by all applicants to the University (students, staff, volunteers).

We believe that by by being faithful stewards in the area of finance, a subject Jesus talked about a lot, and by improving the University’s administrative systems and processes, the campus missionary training programs will become even more fruitful. And the end result is more missionaries, better outreaches, and a greater impact on the mission field.

We love being involved with YWAM Kona; to see young people come and be discipled during their Kona lecture phase. Then, to see these same young people go out into the nations, and proclaim the good news of Jesus to a lost and hurting world.

Here’s a pic of our family back when Josiah and Austin still lived here 😦

Our Family

We now have 2 boys at home and 2 boys have gone on with their own lives. Josiah (23) lives in California and has recently graduated from Chapman University. Austin (21) lives in Texas and is still studying for a degree in Mechanical Engineering. We miss Josiah and Austin so much, but are blessed to see them out on their own as young men now.

So now it’s just Kyle (16) and Tre (11) at home now. Kyle is in high school and Tre is in middle school. They of course miss their big brothers too. It’s super fun when we get to be together, though we wish it could happen more often.

Here’s a pic of us all together from Summer 2024 (with Lynnette’s Dad) in Washington.
